Dr. Scott L. Huynh, DMD

Dental School: Temple University 2011 / DMD
Undergraduate School: Georgia State University 2003 / BA

Dr. Huynh was born in Vietnam, but grew up in Atlanta, GA. He attended Georgia State University where, in 2003, he received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Management. Dr. Huynh then went on to Dental School at Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA. He joined DentFirst in July of 2011 and enjoys all aspects of dentistry. While at Georgia State University, Dr. Huynh received the Faculty Scholarship Award for academic excellence in Science. He spends his free time enjoying the outdoor world including running with his Australian Shepherd dog named Rico, biking, swimming, watching and playing sports. Dr. Huynh also enjoys experimenting with different cultures through culinary arts.

Dr. Lorraine E. La Fontaine, DDS

Dr. LaFontaine grew up in Trenton, New Jersey but currently resides with her family in Johns Creek, GA. She has lived in Florida, New York, New Jersey, the Dominican Republic and Honduras and is fluent in Spanish. When she is not practicing dentistry with her DentFirst team you can find her fulfilling the needs of underprivileged children in Gwinnett County. Dr. LaFontaine joined the DentFirst team in 1991 and her outside interests include reading, gardening and spending time with her husband, John, her daughter Lindsay and her son, Taylor.

Dr. David O. Lofters, DDS

Dental School: Howard University 2001/DDS
Specialty School: Howard University 2003 MS in Orthodontics
Undergraduate School: Oakwood College 1996 / BS Biology

Dr. Lofters was born and grew up in Toronto, Canada. David loved sports, and in high school played varsity basketball, ice hockey, baseball and volleyball! He worked as a barber while attending Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama, but always achieved a position on the school’s Dean’s List as well as adding his name to the National Dean’s List. While attending Dental School at Howard University, Dr. Lofters was awarded membership in OKU, the National Dental Honor Society, a position reserved for only a few outstanding students. David has two teenage sons, and he and his wife now live in Marietta. In his spare time, he enjoys playing classical piano, golf, and basketball, as well as being creative with both acrylic painting and pencil drawing! Dr. Lofters is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and the Northern District Dental Society.

Dr. Hank Masek, DDS

Dental School: Case Western Reserve 1976/DDS
Graduate School: Massachusetts Institute of Technology 1975 / Biochemistry
Undergraduate School: Northwestern University 1972/BS Biochemistry

Dr. Masek was born in New York City, grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and Dallas, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army Hospital, Fort Hood and Viet Nam. Currently he resides in Duluth with his wife Victoria and two children Melina and Nick. Dr. Masek is an excellent auto mechanic, enjoys racing and restoring cars: he was a race car driver at Road Atlanta for many years. He also enjoys playing chess, reading, photography, boating on Lake Lanier and music: he was an Ohio State finalist in trombone and on the Northwestern University marching band.

Dr. Masek is an accomplished artist specializing in charcoal and pen-and-ink drawing. Currently, he is a member of MENSA as well as the American Dental Association. He became part of the DentFirst team in 1985 and he treats patients in the Smyrna, Duluth, McDonough, Johns Creek, Mall of Georgia and Cumming offices.

Dr. Frank Maybusher, DMD

Dental School: University of Louisville 2005/ DMD

Undergraduate School: University of South Florida 1999/ BS Physics and Mathematics

Dr. Maybusher was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, but later moved to Tampa, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Mathematics in 1999 from the University of South Florida. Following the completion of his undergraduate degree, he attended the University of Louisville for dental school where he graduated in 2005.

Dr. Maybusher is married to his wife, Regina, and together they have two sons, Isaac and Aeon. When he isn’t treating patients, he also enjoys spending time with his family and their dog Nina, hiking, camping, reading and traveling.

Dr. Maybusher has a diverse background in education and has enjoyed experiences from software engineering to building a radio telescope.  He also likes to take continuing education courses to help him keep up with cutting edge dentistry. He is certified in Invisalign and Lumineers, as well. Dr. Maybusher joined DentFirst in August of 2014. Patients can visit Dr. Maybusher at the DentFirst Stonecrest and Johns Creek offices.

Dr. Liliana Mejia, DDS

Dental School: Javeriana University 1979/DDS;
Emory University 1985/Orthodontics
Undergraduate School: Javeriana University, Bogota, Colombia  

Dr. Mejia was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia and of course she speaks Spanish fluently! She currently lives in Henry Country with her husband, Dean. Dr. Mejia is an avid reader, particularly interested in history and mythology, and enjoys spending time with her dogs, cycling, kayaking, and hiking. Dr. Mejia is a member of the Southern Association of Orthodontists as well as the American Academy of Orthodontics, and joined DentFirst in 1989.

Dr. Richard Musicer, DMD

Dental School: Emory University 1977/D.D.S.
Undergraduate School: University of Southern California 1973/B.S. Biology

Dr. Musicer was born and grew up in Los Angeles. Following graduation from Dental school, he elected to stay in Georgia and start a family. He has two daughters, Michelle and Wendy, and two grandchildren. In addition to teaching Oral Medicine at the Emory University School of Dentistry, Dr. Musicer began his own Dental practice in Atlanta in 1977, and then, along with Dr. Abes and Dr. Dowd, founded Family Dental Health Centers in 1979. This practice became DentFirst in 1982. Richard’s primary hobby is Amateur Radio– he was first licensed at age 12 in 1963 and has been an active ham radio operator ever since. Through his station N6CR, “Rick” has friends around the world in over 335 different countries–he has contacted every geographical country on earth! Dr. Musicer also greatly enjoys traveling and has visited over 60 countries on every continent. He enjoys boating on Lake Lanier (he has taught Marine Electronics courses for the U.S. Power Squadron) and photography. You can see some of his favorite pictures decorating the walls of many DentFirst offices.

Dr. Michael Pellegrinon, DMD

Dental School: University of Florida 1988/DMD
Undergraduate School: University of Maryland 1984/BS Zoology

Dr. Michael Pellegrinon joined DentFirst in 1989. He received his high school degree in Germany where he lived with his parents who were in the United States military. As a result, he is fluent in German and has had the opportunity to travel extensively through Europe.

Dr. Pellegrinon spends his free time renovating his older Atlanta home, through restoring furniture, and working on his home computer. (His latest interest is computer generated music using his keyboard’s MIDI interface.) He also enjoys gardening, walking and cycling when he gets a chance.

He particularly enjoys cosmetic dentistry and making beautiful smiles for his patients. Patients can visit Dr. Pellegrinon at the DentFirst Norcross and Duluth offices.

Dr. Robert J. Piede, DMD

Dental School: Medical College of Georgia 1976/DMD
Undergraduate School: Emory University 1972/BS Chemistry & Biology

Dr. Piede was born in the Bronx, New York. He was raised in Atlanta. He graduated from St. Pius X High School where he was President of the National Honor Society for the State of Georgia, editor of the Golden Lines newspaper and a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. He also played baseball for the Clairemont baseball association. While attending Emory University, Dr. Piede achieved the Dean’s List, was a Phi Beta Kappa nominee and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry.

Following graduation from dental school where Dr. Piede achieved a Doctorate in Dental Medicine he completed a general practice dental residency at the United States Public Health Hospital in Staten Island, New York. It was there that he met his wife as she worked with him as an oral surgery assistant. He was then assigned to the hospital staff at the United States Public Health Hospital in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Piede practiced dentistry in the Decatur area before joining DentFirst in 1992. He lives in Dunwoody with his wife, Irene, of 35 years, and their two sons John and Tony.

Bob enjoys home repair projects which keep him busy. He also enjoys collecting canes, stamps, knives, ivory carvings and Meerschaum pipes. One of his favorite pastimes is shopping with his wife. Dr. Piede still enjoys dentistry after 40 years of practice. He sees every day as a new adventure. He particularly enjoys restoring smiles with crowns and removable prosthetics. He has no plans to retire because dentistry has always been what he wanted to do since the age of twelve.

Dr. Peter Pomazon, DMD

Dental School: University of Pennsylvania 1978/ D.M.D.
Undergraduate School: University of New Hampshire 1974/BA Chemistry English

Dr. Pomazon was born in Canton, Ohio and grew up in Dover, New Hampshire. After graduating from dental school, he practiced in Honolulu for several years. It was there he met his wife, Suzy, before relocating to Georgia in 1981. He currently resides in East Cobb with his wife, daughter, Jessie and son, Caleb.

Dr. Pomazon has a passion for dentistry, but when he is not treating patients he enjoys backpacking, and hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail. He and his family attend Eastside Baptist Church. His other interests include auto repair and home improvement projects. He has been a part of the DentFirst team since 1993.
