Dr. Dara Barron is a highly accomplished and board-certified prosthodontist serving patients at the Locust Grove and McDonough DentFirst locations. She specializes in dental rehabilitation and esthetic functional restorations, bringing decades of advanced training and experience to her patients.

Throughout her career, Dr. Barron has published research studies in several dental journals and served as Co-Director of the Advanced Clinical Training Residency Program at UCLA in Los Angeles. Before joining DentFirst, she retired from the VA as a prosthodontist after a long and distinguished career in federal dentistry and private practice. Her passion lies in helping patients achieve beautiful, functional smiles through comprehensive and personalized treatment plans.

Dr. Barron’s inspiration for dentistry stems from her commitment to lifelong learning and her desire to combine science, art, and function to improve her patients’ quality of life. She takes pride in creating individualized treatment plans that restore both the function and aesthetics of her patients’ smiles.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Barron enjoys gardening, cooking, attending dental continuing education courses, and exploring Atlanta’s fine arts scene. She and her husband, James—who is also a practicing dentist in Georgia—enjoy spending time with their two sons and their grandchildren. One of her sons is a dentist practicing in South Georgia, while the other is a paralegal in Georgia.
