Behnam Yavari, DMD Dental School: Medical College of Georgia DMD/2011 Undergraduate School: Georgia Institute of Technology 2003/BS

Dr. Yavari was born and raised in Tehran, Iran and immigrated to the United states during the late 1990's. He attended both Georgia Perimeter college and Georgia Institute of Technology where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He also worked as a research technician in Georgia Tech’s air quality laboratory for 8 years prior to attending dental school. He continued his education as a recognized graduate in the dental lab technician program at Gwinnett Technical College and later attended the Medical College of GA, School of Dentistry. During his college years, he was a member of the Georgia Perimeter college soccer team and volunteered many times at Grady hospital where he performed emergency triage. Dr. Yavari volunteers his professional services at the Ben Massell Dental clinic, the Fulton and Floyd County public health departments. Dr. Yavari joined DentFirst in the Spring, 2012.

He has been an active member of American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association and guest member of Latinos' Professionals Association of Atlanta. Dr. Yavari and his wife Laura Aponte de Yavari reside in Dunwoody, GA. During their spare time, the Yavaris enjoy hiking up and down Kennesaw Mountain and serving as volunteers, seeing needy patients for local public health departments. When Dr. Yavari is not practicing dentistry, you can find him and his wife cruising in the Caribbean or Southern Europe. They also enjoy preparing and eating Latin cuisine.

Dr. Yavari is an active member of the Medical College of Georgia Alumni association.
