Dr. Williams was born and grew up in Linden, Guyana. In high school he played cricket and soccer, and enjoyed both acting and directing plays in the theater department. After graduation, he became a laboratory analyst for a large Bauxite plant before heading to Havana to become a dentist. His dental career has included service with the Guyana Army (he is also trained as a solder with the rank of Captain), private practice in Georgetown, Guyana, and served as the Regional Dental Director for Andros Island in the Bahamas from 2000-2004. He performed a great deal of difficult field dentistry for the indigenous population in the interior of Guyana and served as the Director of Vocational Services of the Rotary Club of Georgetown. In a joint project with the Rotary Club of Virginia, Colin developed and equipped a mobile dental center to bring dentistry to the under-served communities of Guyana. In 2004, Dr. Williams moved to New York to complete his American dental training, and then further continued with an Advanced Education Residency at Peninsula Hospital. Colin is married with three grown children and lives in McDonough. He enjoys making trips back home to visit family and friends in Guyana, as well as traveling throughout the Caribbean and South America. Dr. Williams is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Georgia Dental Association, Northern District Dental Society, and he speaks fluent English and Spanish. He really loves all aspects of general dentistry and helping his patients to be able to smile again! You can visit him at our DentFirst Jonesboro location.
