Dr. Shefrin was a Dean's List student and a member of Florida Scholars in college. In addition to doing research in the University of Florida microbiology laboratory, Lauren worked at Disney World where you might have seen her in costume as either Chip, Dale, Roger Rabbit, or Gonzo! After dental school, Dr. Shefrin continued her education with a one-year General Practice Residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, followed by a one year fellowship in Endodontics at the University of Florida School of Dentistry, and then a further year of Endodontic study back in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. After practicing dentistry in both Flint and Livonia, Michigan, as well as several years in Hollywood, Lake Worth, and Pompano Beach, Florida, she has now chosen to live in Cumming with her husband and young daughter, Abby. In her spare time, Lauren has fun with vegetable gardening, Mediterranean cooking, and various home craft projects including knitting and needlepoint. Of course she is an avid Gator football fan and also loves dancing and ice hockey. Dr. Shefrin is active as an officer in the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association and Northern District Dental Society. She particularly enjoys the challenges of endodontics and cosmetic dentistry and loves helping improve her patient's smiles and lives. Visit her at DentFirst in Cumming!
