Dr. Parker was born and grew up in Washington, D.C. In her first year of Dental School she met her husband, who is now a U.S. Army Dentist. They began their professional careers living in many different places including Watchula, Florida, Columbus, Georgia (Ft. Benning), Schweinfurt, Germany, Savannah, Georgia (Ft. Stewart), Ft. Hood, Texas, and finally Lawton, Oklahoma. It was there that Dr. Lauren Parker joined the U.S. Public Health Service to treat the American Native population for four years as a part of the Indian Health Service. Both Dr. Parkers currently reside in Decatur with their three teenage children, three dogs (a poodle, a pomeranian, and a rat terrier) and, in addition to being a soccer and cheerleading coach, as well as a girl scout leader, Lauren likes reading self improvment books, painting with acrylics and water colors, weaving, and music (she plays the piano, violin, and clarinet)! Dr. Parker enjoys all aspects of restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
