Dr. Middleton was born and raised in Yazoo City, Mississippi. In high school, Charles played both Varsity football (he was a little fullback) and basketball (shortest guy on the team!). Even though he wanted to be a Dentist, after college, Charles joined the U.S. Army, first in Artillery, and then became the team leader of a Special Forces unit with assignments all over the world. In 1989, he decided to finally become a Dentist and returned to Houston for his dental training. He continued his education with a one year residency at Fort Carson, Colorado, and then a four year Oral Surgery residency at Madigan Army Medical Center at Fort Lewis, Washington. Dr. Middleton was then stationed at Fort Benning and finally Fort Stewart in Savannah. Colonel Middleton continues his military service part-time at Fort Bragg as an Army Special Operations Medical Instructor. Also of note in Charles' career were his night jobs as a bass guitarist while he was stationed in Europe with the group "Bag of Cats" (which won a Battle of the Bands contest) and in Washington with another group that produced a CD! Ask him how his band got its name! Dr. Middleton now lives in Cobb County with his wife, two sons and two daughters, and lots of fish in his fresh water aquarium. In his spare time, Charles enjoys tennis (playing doubles both in ALTA and USTA), golf, and still playing classic rock on his bass guitar. Dr. Middleton is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Academy of Osteointegration, and joined the DentFirst Dental Care family in 2008.
