Ken E. Edwards, III DDS |
Dr. Edwards is a native of Atlanta. His pre-college alma maters are The Hieskel Nursery School, E. Rivers Elementary School and Northside High School. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology preceeded his entrance to Emory School of Dentistry. Graduating first in his class in dental school, he received awards of merit in periodontics, endodontics, prosthetics; as well as the certificate of achievement from the National Board of Dental Examiners in 1974 and 1976. He practiced privately in Cedartown, Georgia for 20 years. Early in his career he was the dentist for the Deaf and the Public Health Departments of Floyd, Polk, Paulding and Haralson Counties. In 1977, 1978 and 1980 he participated on medical mission trips to the Dominican Republic and St. Vincent Island in the Grenidines. As a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association and the North Georgia District Dental Society he is kept active with his continued education. Another achievement he cherishes is being a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. The Boy Scouts of America have been a part of Dr. Edwards' life since 1959, and he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1963. There have been many more honors received in the years of his association with the Northwest Georgia Council and the Atlanta Area Council. Dr. Edwards and Cathy (his wife) love their involvement in Bible Study Fellowship which is a ministry all over the world. Traveling is quite another passion as they have been to all the continents. They are blessed with 6 sons and 1 daughter; all of whom have pursued various careers. Other outlets he enjoys are family, weight training, reading and collecting Boy Scout memorabilia. On January 9, 1999 he committed himself to the DentFirst team, and practices at the Duluth office.
