Kenion Edwards, III, DDS


Dental School: Emory University Dental 1976 / DDS
Undergraduate School: Emory University 1972 / B.S. Biology

His parents and he are Atlanta natives. Although academics were paramount, he enjoyed being on the varsity track and cross country teams at Northside High School. During his eight years at Emory University he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Graduating first in his class, he received awards of merit in three specialties (periodontics, endodontics, and prosthetics) and is a member of OKU (the national honorary dental society).

He was in private practice in Cedartown and Cave Spring, Georgia for 18 years. During this period he was a dental consultant for Georgia School for the Deaf and Public Health Departments of Floyd, Polk, Paulding and Haralson Counties. Ken has participated in four medical mission trips (1977, 1978, 1980, 2005) to St. Vincent, Dominican Republic, and Peru. Since 1960 The Boy Scouts of America have been an integral part of his life. Having achieved the rank of Eagle in 1964, he has continued to be an adult leader. Ken has earned numerous awards while serving the Northwest Georgia Council and the Atlanta Area Council. Cathy (his wife) and he appreciate the adventure in exploration of diverse areas of the planet. The passion for travel has taken them to all the continents and over 90 countries. They are blessed with a large family of seven children grown and nine grandchildren. His other interests are Bible Study, cave diving, history, aerobic and anaerobic exercise, and reading. He became a part of the DentFirst team in January of 1999, practicing in the Duluth office.
