Dr. Braxton was born and grew up in Richmond, Virginia. During both her high school and college years, Darchelle worked as a dental assistant and this is when she decided to become a dentist. At Virginia State University she worked on a biochemistry genetics research project studying genome sequencing, and was a member of the Biology Honor Society. In Dental School she was active in student government and participated in many community service outreach projects including a mission trip to Brazil to bring dentistry to others in need of care. After graduation, Dr. Braxton continued her dental training for an additional year in Brooklyn, New York at Kings County Hospital Center. Darchelle now lives in Atlanta with her husband, and in her spare time enjoys cooking (a fancy salmon dish is her specialty) and traveling (Hawaii is her latest adventure). She is active in the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Atlanta as well as a member of the American Dental Association. She loves all facets of restorative dentistry, implants, and prosthodontics, and patients can visit her at either our DentFirst Stonecrest or DentFirst Jonesboro locations!
